The Sovereignty of Money
Who Really Gets to Decide What Money Is?
If you want to understand the spiritual battle of our time, stop looking first at politics and start looking at money. Because money is never neutral. It always has a ruler. Every currency has a throne. And the real question is simple.
Who sits on it?
Fiat: The Money Ruled by Kings and Cabinets
Fiat is the clearest example that money is governed, not discovered. Your dollars do not derive their value from truth, but from decree.
From signatures.
From committees.
From unelected central bankers who can change the rules of the game without ever consulting the people who must live under those rules.
Fiat is ruled money. It is money with a king. And the king is the state.
Around the world, the fruit is obvious:
Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation
Argentina’s perpetual currency collapse
Turkey’s imploding lira
Nigeria’s capital controls
China’s social-credit-linked payments
Lebanon’s frozen bank accounts
Sri Lanka’s debt implosion
Let’s not forget Venezuela, who took the pattern to its extreme, turning one of the wealthiest nations in Latin America into a humanitarian disaster as hyperinflation exceeded one million percent, wiping out life savings and proving again that when governments control money, citizens carry the consequences.
Governments decide what money is. Every time they reach too far, the people pay the bill.
“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” - Proverbs 29:2 says,
Fiat groans.
Because fiat bends to the will of the ruler, not the needs of the ruled.
Crypto: The Money Ruled by Founders, Backers, and Code Kings
Now enter crypto, the marketing term that pretends to democratize money but mostly repackages the same centralization in new clothing.
Most crypto projects are not decentralized. They are startups with tokens. Tokens whose supply, governance, issuance, and incentive structures are controlled by Founders, VCs, Treasury committees, Small inner circles behind multisig wallets, Marketing teams that decide “roadmaps”, and Developers who can upgrade the chain at will
Crypto is not the rebellion the world thinks it is. It is another monarchy just with better branding and a Discord channel. This is why the world must hear the next line clearly:
Bitcoin is not crypto.
Bitcoin is the antidote to crypto.
Crypto has kings. Bitcoin does not.
Bitcoin: The Money With No Throne Except Truth
Bitcoin is not ruled by a founder. Bitcoin has no CEO. Bitcoin has no marketing department, no investor deck, no allocation carve-outs, no special privileges.
The person or group known as Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared in 2010. The final verified communication was in December 2010. Satoshi mined roughly 1.1 million bitcoin. Satoshi has never moved a single bitcoin.
Not once.
Not ever.
Find any other asset on earth whose creator walked away before the world understood it.
You cannot.
Because bitcoin is not ruled by a king or a founder.
Bitcoin is ruled by math, protocol, consensus, energy, and time.
Which means bitcoin is ruled by truth, not by control.
“Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making.” - Proverbs 16:11
Bitcoin is the first monetary system since gold that behaves like an honest scale.
No ruler can mint more. No committee can rewrite the ledger. No government can inflate it to solve its own mistakes. Bitcoin is not a human system of money. It is a creation-aligned system of money.
That is why governments resist it. That is why central banks fear it. That is why crypto imitators cannot match it.
Because bitcoin allows no king but truth.
The Kingdom Principle: God Alone Defines Value
Here is where theology enters the room.
In Scripture, God alone defines value. He alone sets worth. He alone determines times and seasons.
Humans distort value when they try to control it. Every empire that manipulated its money eventually collapsed under the weight of its own deception. But God’s Kingdom operates differently.
Truth endures.
Scales remain honest.
Stewardship is rewarded.
Control is relinquished.
Hope is anchored beyond human rule.
Bitcoin mirrors these patterns not because it is divine, but because truth always reflects the fingerprints of the One who made it.
So the real question for our age is simple:
Who gets to define money? Politicians? Founders? Or truth itself?
As followers of Christ, we know that anything built on manipulation eventually fails.
But anything aligned with truth eventually stands.
Bitcoin will not save you. It will expose which systems rest on sand and which rest on stone. Only the Kingdom rests on a foundation that cannot be shaken.
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving us discernment in a world built on shifting values and manufactured truths. Teach us to see money the way You see it, not as an idol to trust, but as a tool to steward. Give us clarity to recognize systems built on deception and wisdom to anchor ourselves in what is true, just, and enduring. Guard our hearts from fear, greed, and control. Align our stewardship with Your Kingdom and let Your Spirit guide us in every financial decision we make. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🔥
