There are moments when the financial world feels like a collection of unrelated headlines. The Federal Reserve debates rates. Treasury issues more debt. Japan changes policy. China buys gold. Oil spikes because of war. Housing gets harder to afford, stocks keep climbing, and Bitcoin moves twenty-four hours a day as if sleep were a character flaw. Yet beneath all of those stories sits one larger question: what happens when the promises holding the global financial system together become more expensive to maintain?
That is the question behind The Sovereign Squeeze. As 2026 enters its final months, developed governments are borrowing more at higher rates while traditional buyers of sovereign debt become more selective. Central banks are trying to control inflation caused partly by forces they cannot control. Geopolitical conflict is moving through energy markets and into household budgets. Gold is behaving like a reserve asset while Bitcoin is still proving what role it will ultimately play.
This series is not designed to turn anyone into a macro trader. It is designed to help you understand the machine.
For years, many of us were taught to think about economics in separate boxes. Inflation belonged to the Fed. Debt belonged to Congress. Oil belonged to geopolitics. Housing belonged to local markets. Bitcoin belonged to crypto people who apparently owned no shirts with collars.
That separation no longer works.
The global financial system is one connected architecture. A decision by the Bank of Japan can influence demand for U.S. Treasuries. Treasury yields affect mortgage rates. Oil moving through the Strait of Hormuz can influence inflation in Ohio. Inflation can change Federal Reserve policy. Federal Reserve policy can change liquidity, which can move Bitcoin before most people have finished reading the announcement.
Scripture gives us a better framework than fear.
The men of Issachar were described as people who “understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” That is the posture I want for this series. Not prediction as performance. Not panic disguised as discernment. Wisdom rooted in truth.
Over twelve parts, we will examine the Fed, Treasury, sovereign debt, Japan, China, Europe, war, energy, household affordability, AI, credit, gold, and Bitcoin. We will ask not only what is happening, but why it matters, who bears the consequences, and what faithful stewardship requires in response. We will bring Scripture, history, the American Founding, and the realities facing modern households into the same conversation.
Bitcoin belongs here because it asks a fundamentally different monetary question.
What if part of our savings could exist in an asset whose supply is not determined by a government, whose rules are publicly verifiable, and whose existence does not depend upon another party’s promise to repay?
That does not make Bitcoin a savior. It makes Bitcoin relevant.
This series will not argue that every crisis is bullish for Bitcoin or that sovereign debt means collapse is imminent. The more important task is to understand the pressure building across the system and what those pressures reveal about money, trust, responsibility, and the future.
We are not studying the world so we can fear it. We are studying it so we can steward wisely within it.
Kingdom Principle 👑
Discernment begins with understanding the system before reacting to the headline.
God does not call His people to ignorance, panic, or blind confidence in human institutions. He calls us to wisdom, preparation, responsibility, and faithful stewardship. Understanding markets, debt, inflation, energy, and Bitcoin is not about predicting every turn. It is about seeing clearly enough to act faithfully when the turn comes.
Prayer 🙏
Heavenly Father, give us wisdom as we examine a financial world under pressure. Help us understand what is changing without becoming consumed by fear, and teach us to distinguish temporary market noise from deeper structural truth.
Give our households discipline, our leaders humility, and our hearts peace. May the Holy Spirit sharpen our discernment, may Bitcoin and every financial tool remain in its proper place, and may Jesus Christ remain the unchanging foundation beneath every decision we make.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏📖🌍🧭⚖️🏛️₿🕊️👑
