Compute: The raw processing capability of machines, used either to mine Bitcoin or, increasingly, to run other workloads like AI, depending on where value is highest.Miners in 2026 look less like speculators and more like power traders and asset managers. Their edge is no longer just cheap machines. It is financing structure. Tax strategy. Procurement timing. Balance sheet maturity. And increasingly, operational flexibility.
The best miners can switch between mining bitcoin and running AI compute. They can curtail when power prices spike. They can sell energy back to the grid when it makes sense. They understand that optionality is worth more than brute force.

Bitcoin mining is no longer romantic.
