A Theology of Gratitude: What Bitcoin Teaches Us About Thanks
How Biblical Gratitude and Bitcoin’s Design Point to the Same Creator
The day before Thanksgiving, besides a family tradition started by my Grandma Lorraine of Hot Dog Wednesday Night, always carries its own quiet holiness. The pace slows. The noise softens. And if we let it, gratitude begins to rise. Not the polite gratitude we speak out of habit, but the deep gratitude that forms when we step back and truly see what God is doing in our lives.
Gratitude is not sentimental. It is spiritual warfare. It breaks the power of fear, scarcity, comparison, and anxiety. It reorients our hearts toward the Giver rather than the gifts. And Scripture is clear about the posture God desires.
Paul writes, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:18
Not for all circumstances, but in them. Gratitude is the defiant choice to see God’s fingerprints in every season.
As I step into this mission with Kingdom Bitcoin, I find myself more grateful than ever before. Grateful for truth. Grateful for calling. Grateful for every person reading these words. Many of you have encouraged, challenged, or prayed for me in this new chapter. You are part of this family, part of this story, and part of this movement God is forming.
And so today is the perfect day to reflect on something unexpected. Something most people would never associate with gratitude.
Bitcoin.
Because if you pay close attention, Bitcoin teaches a theology of thanks.
1. Gratitude Restores Perspective
Gratitude is about remembering. Remembering who God is. Remembering what He has done. Remembering that every good thing flows from His hand.
Bitcoin’s ledger is a memorial of truth. It remembers what was. It preserves it without distortion. It reflects the biblical pattern where truth must be recorded so trust can be restored.
“Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced.” - Psalm 105:5
A truthful record invites gratitude because it helps us see clearly.
2. Gratitude Rejects Scarcity and Welcomes Enough
Bitcoin’s fixed supply is a mirror of God’s daily bread provision. Scarcity is not punishment. It is protection. It teaches contentment, patience, and wisdom.
God trained Israel that excess spoils the soul. The manna rotted when hoarded. Enough was enough. Gratitude forms when we recognize God’s rhythm of provision.
“Give us today our daily bread.” - Matthew 6:11
Bitcoin echoes this prayer in mathematical form. It makes us grateful for limits that guard our hearts.
3. Gratitude Births Generosity
The thankful heart always becomes the generous heart. This is why Jesus could say that giving to the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, and the broken was the same as serving Him.
Bitcoin’s permissionless nature honors this truth. No institution decides who can give or receive. No gatekeeper closes the door. It is open handed. It is accessible. It is aligned with Kingdom generosity.
Gratitude always expands the reach of love.
4. Gratitude Strengthens Community
To every reader, every supporter, every person walking this road with me: thank you. This work is not mine alone. It is ours. We are building something that will outlive us. Something truthful. Something strong. Something rooted in the Kingdom.
Gratitude binds us. Gratitude strengthens us. Gratitude lights the way forward.
Prayer
Father, thank You for every breath, every blessing, every door You have opened.
Give us eyes to see Your goodness and hearts that overflow with gratitude.
Let thankfulness shape how we build, how we give, and how we love.
Make our lives a testimony of Your faithfulness. ✝️
